I currently maintain a couple of Microsoft Access databases used to run shops; sales, stock, invoicing, courier collection and delivery, suppliers etc. There are systems available such as Quickbooks that claim to do this for the average shop owner but my client wanted a unique system built to his own specification.
I have mentioned this as it is an example of bespoking, sometimes off the shelf solutions just don’t quite cover the whole thing and some people don’t like to compromise.
